The role

We are looking for experienced Production Operators to join our growing manufacturing team in Coventry, supporting the production of specialist defence protection products used by customers around the world. This is a permanent day shift opportunity in a busy and evolving production environment, where quality, safety, attention to detail and consistency are essential. As demand increases, we are expanding the team and looking for people who have already worked in manufacturing and understand the importance of following processes, working to standards and delivering right first time.

As a Production Operator, you will work as part of a skilled production cell manufacturing military grade protective equipment. You will follow the production plan set by your Team Leader and carry out practical production, assembly, finishing and inspection tasks in line with clear Manufacturing Instructions. This role will suit someone who takes pride in hands on work, enjoys being part of a team and wants to contribute to products that support our purpose of protecting lives. Responsibilities

In this role, you will carry out a range of hands-on production, assembly, finishing and inspection tasks to support safe, consistent output and strong product quality. The key duties and responsibilities are outlined below:

• Prepare, handle and organise materials, components and equipment required for each production workstream.
• Carry out production and assembly tasks in line with Manufacturing Instructions, drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Use hand tools, production equipment and approved methods safely and accurately.
• Complete fitting, finishing, trimming, bonding, assembly or preparation activities as required by the production process.
• Check materials, components and finished work to ensure they meet the required standard before moving to the next stage.
• Maintain accurate traceability by recording production information, quality checks and required documentation correctly and on time.
• Report any defects, quality concerns, equipment issues, safety concerns or production delays promptly to the Team Leader.
• Work closely with colleagues, Team Leaders and Quality to resolve issues and maintain production flow.
• Keep the work area clean, organised and safe, following Health and Safety, 5S and housekeeping standards.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying practical ways to improve safety, quality, efficiency and ways of working.

Experience

Essential

• Previous experience working in a manufacturing, production, assembly or similar practical environment.
• Able to understand and follow written Manufacturing Instructions, drawings, specifications or standard operating procedures.
• Good attention to detail, with the ability to complete practical tasks accurately and consistently.
• Able to work safely, follow defined processes and understand the importance of quality and traceability.
• Comfortable using hand tools, production equipment or carrying out hands on assembly work.
• Able to communicate clearly with your Team Leader and colleagues, as the role involves safety critical processes and accurate record keeping.
• Reliable, team focused and able to work in a busy production environment.
• Experience of using AI tools or demonstrates a willingness to learn and apply AI in role.

Desirable

• Experience working in defence, aerospace, automotive, composites, textiles, protective equipment or another regulated manufacturing environment.
• Experience carrying out detailed assembly, finishing, inspection, trimming, bonding or fitting work.
• Experience working to production targets and quality standards.
• Previous experience completing production paperwork, traceability records or system updates.
