As we expand our product portfolio and global presence, our Export Compliance and Sanctions division within the Logistics & Supply Chain department is seeking a Trade Compliance Analyst. This role reports directly to the Senior Export Control & Sanctions Manager and is responsible for supporting Nozomi’s global export control and sanctions compliance activities. The Analyst will ensure transactions comply with applicable regulations and internal policies, focusing on operational execution, transaction screening, and program maintenance across North America, EU, EMEA, APAC, and LATAM.
In this role, you will:
- Conduct restricted/sanctioned party screening and Know Your Customer (KYC) due diligence for partners, distributors, and end-users.
- Review red flags and escalate potential compliance issues to the Senior Export Control & Sanctions Manager.
- Assist in classifying products, software, and technology under applicable export control schedules (ECCN, HTS).
- Prepare documentation for license authorizations and reporting; maintain records of approvals.
- Provide support with product certifications throughout the supply chain.
- Help update export control and sanctions compliance manuals, guidelines, and internal procedures.
- Support semi-annual and annual reporting requirements (e.g., EU license usage, U.S. license exceptions).
- Participate in internal audits and maintain accurate records of export transactions.
- Run and audit ACE reports for US exports.
- Monitor compliance dashboards and assist in risk assessments.
- Work with logistics, supply chain, and sales teams to ensure compliance in daily operations.
- Provide basic guidance on compliance requirements and escalate complex issues.
- Support logistics teams with bookings, purchase order placement, shipment arrangements, and reverse logistics as required.
To be successful in this opportunity, you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in international business, Economics, Supply Chain, Law, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in trade compliance, export control, or a related regulatory environment.
- 3-5 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, customs brokerage, or export/import operations.
- Strong understanding of international trade regulations (EAR, EU Dual-Use Regulation, EU CFSP, OFAC, and equivalent frameworks).
- Experience with compliance screening tools (e.g., screening systems, SAP-GTS, Ease, Thomson & Reuters).
- Experience with ERP systems preferably NetSuite & Salesforce.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills across departments.
Preferred:
- Experience in SPL screening, red flag reviews, and due diligence.
- Experience with product classification (ECCN, HTS) and export authorizations.
- Exposure to compliance audits and reporting requirements.
- Familiarity with global logistics, customs clearance, and export restrictions across various jurisdictions.
- Certification in export controls and/or sanctions compliance from a recognized certifying body is a plus but not required.
- Fluency in Italian is a plus but not required.
- Located in Europe or willing to work on Europe’s time zone is preferred.
- Willingness and ability to travel 10–20% of the time.
