The Role
As an IT Support Apprentice, you will be part of a busy Service Desk team, providing first-line technical support to clients and supporting day-to-day IT operations. You will gain exposure to multiple systems and technologies, working both remotely and on-site to resolve technical issues. Key Responsibilities
- Providing 1st Line IT Support to clients
- Handling calls, service tickets, and email requests via the Service Desk
- Delivering both remote and on-site technical support
- Monitoring and maintaining network and server infrastructure
- Troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- Responding quickly to faults, system outages, and technical incidents
- Creating and maintaining process and support documentation
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients

- Full UK driving licence (required for on-site support)
- Good understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts (routers, wired/wireless networks)
- Understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English
Desirable:
- Around 1 year of IT experience (education, personal, or work-based)
Training & Development
You will complete a 12-15 month IT apprenticeship programme, combining hands-on work experience with structured training. You will develop skills in:
- Operating systems and IT support
- Server administration
- Networking and infrastructure
- Cyber security fundamentals
- Customer service and service desk support
You will be supported throughout your learning with mentoring, training sessions, and practical experience.
