Now Education are working with an Alternative Provision, just outside the city centre of Derby that are looking to appoint 2 x experienced SEND teachers to join their team for a September 2026 start. The school are looking for a strong, motivated teacher that has good behaviour management to cover teacher absences. The role is full time and will be required until the end of the academic year.
Details of the role include:
- Cover lessons for absent teaching staff whilst delivering engaging lessons with pre-set plans
- Liaising with permanent teaching staff
- Manage behaviour within the school, including classrooms, corridors etc.
- Work alongside Teaching Assistants and Learning Mentors to deliver and create a positive learning environment
- Provide feedback to your students
- Support students with poor attendance
Qualifications:
- Experience working with KS2 and KS3 students
- Previous experience working in a mainstream or SEN school
- A subject specialism and a passion for education
- Very good classroom and behaviour management
- Great communication skills
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and will be offered work on successfully passing Now Education's compliance checks. You will need to have an Enhanced DBS on the update service to work in schools.
