Now Education are currently recruiting for a compassionate and experienced Thrive Practitioner to work within a supportive PRU/SEND school in Runcorn. This is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people who require additional emotional and behavioural support. This role will initially be offered on a temporary basis, with the opportunity to become permanent after 12 weeks for the right candidate.

The Role

  • You will work closely with pupils who may present with:
    • Social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs
    • Autism and additional SEND
    • Challenging behaviour
    • Trauma‑related barriers to learning
  • Using the Thrive Approach, you will support pupils in developing emotional resilience, improving engagement, and building positive relationships within school.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver targeted Thrive interventions and emotional support
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Support behaviour regulation strategies
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams and external agencies
  • Monitor progress and contribute to pupil support plans
  • Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds a recognised Thrive Practitioner qualification
  • Has experience working within PRU, SEND or SEMH settings
  • Is calm, resilient and empathetic
  • Has strong behaviour management and relationship‑building skills
  • Is passionate about supporting vulnerable young people
  • Team Teach training is desirable but not essential
