Now Education are currently recruiting for a compassionate and experienced Thrive Practitioner to work within a supportive PRU/SEND school in Runcorn. This is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people who require additional emotional and behavioural support. This role will initially be offered on a temporary basis, with the opportunity to become permanent after 12 weeks for the right candidate.
The Role
- You will work closely with pupils who may present with:
- Social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs
- Autism and additional SEND
- Challenging behaviour
- Trauma-related barriers to learning
- Using the Thrive Approach, you will support pupils in developing emotional resilience, improving engagement, and building positive relationships within school.
Responsibilities
- Deliver targeted Thrive interventions and emotional support
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
- Support behaviour regulation strategies
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams and external agencies
- Monitor progress and contribute to pupil support plans
- Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds a recognised Thrive Practitioner qualification
- Has experience working within PRU, SEND or SEMH settings
- Is calm, resilient and empathetic
- Has strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
- Is passionate about supporting vulnerable young people
- Team Teach training is desirable but not essential
