NOW Education are delighted to be supporting a Hodge Hill based Special School – a welcoming community special school dedicated to nurturing pupils aged 3-11 with severe and complex learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), profound and multiple learning difficulties, communication and sensory needs. The School is committed to working together to achieve success for all and provides a structured, supportive and person-centred environment where every child is encouraged to grow and develop confidence, communication and independence.

We are seeking skilled and compassionate HLTA who is confident working with pupils with complex needs and passionate about helping them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils aged 3–11 with ASC, severe and complex learning needs
  • Deliver and assist in implementing personalised learning, communication and behaviour support
  • Lead or support small group / 1:1 interventions under teacher direction
  • Assist with sensory regulation, communication strategies and positive behaviour support
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing and structured learning environment
  • Support personal care needs where required
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists and multidisciplinary teams

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Have experience in a UK SEND setting
  • Have experience supporting pupils with Autism and complex needs
  • Be confident managing behaviour calmly and consistently
  • Show resilience, empathy and a positive attitude
  • Be reliable, flexible and enthusiastic about developmental practice
  • Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Have up-to-date safeguarding awareness and ability to maintain confidentiality
