We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Frankland, working as a Maths Teacher. This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours per week.

HMP Frankland is a high-security prison located in Durham, forming part of the Tees & Wear region. It plays a vital role in the UK’s custodial system, housing Category A and B prisoners. The establishment is recognised for its structured and secure environment, with a strong focus on rehabilitation and education.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need to:
- Must be able to deliver GCSE Maths and Functional Skills Maths
- Hold a teaching qualification and where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification – with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months
- Hold a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
- Hold a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)/ Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) or commit to work towards within a specified timeframe (Applies to Teachers in YOI only)
- Have experience in creating stimulating, vibrant environments which are conducive to learning and motivational for learners
- Have previous track record showing achievement of quality targets
- Have successfully produced accurate and timely reports
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Can motivate and enthuse learners
- Have organisational skills to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and targets
- Demonstrate positive team working
