We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Kirkham, working as a Learning Support Worker. This role is offered on a permanent, part-time basis, working 18.5 hours per week.

Site Information

HMP Kirkham is based in the village of Kirkham, Lancashire. It operates as a Cateogry D prison and supports a male population. the teams' aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe, and where causes of prison stress are minimised. The prison's mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Have experience of conducting assessments and supporting learning of individuals and groups
  • Have experience of working with groups of learners with a range of abilities
  • Have experience of successfully working in an effective multi-disciplinary team
  • Proven track record of achieving performance targets
  • Demonstrate accurate and timely reporting
  • Demonstrate team working
  • Demonstrate efficient use of IT Systems to find and collate information
  • Have excellent customer service
  • Have effective communication skills
