We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Wymott, working as a Construction Cover Teacher on an ad-hoc basis.

Site Information: HMP Wymott is a Category C Mens prison based near Leyland, Lancashire. The teams aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe, and where causes of prison stress are minimised. The prison’s mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience: To be successful in this role, you will need to:
- Teaching qualification and where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months
- Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)/ Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) or commit to work towards within a specified timeframe (Applies to Teachers in YOI only)
- Achievement of quality and performance targets
- Accurate and timely completion of documents
- Positive team working
- Effective communication & inter-personal skills
