We’re looking for an inspiring Personal and Social Development (PSD) Curriculum Manager to join our prison education team at HMP Forest Bank. If you have experience of curriculum leadership, team management and delivering learner-centred education, this is a rewarding opportunity to shape a high-quality PSD curriculum that supports personal growth, rehabilitation and progression.

We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Forest Bank, working as a Personal and Social Development (PSD) Curriculum Manager. This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 40 hours per week.

Site Information

HMP Forest Bank is located in Pendlebury in Salford, Greater Manchester. The prison is a Category B Male Prison that accommodates remand and sentenced offenders. It offers a diverse range of education opportunities and employment support. Individuals can work towards nationally recognised qualifications.

Role Responsibilities

  • As PSD Curriculum Manager, you will lead and support the education team to deliver an engaging, inclusive and responsive Personal and Social Development curriculum that helps learners develop confidence, life skills, employability and positive behaviours.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

  • Hold a Teaching qualification – minimum Cert Ed or PGCE
  • Hold a degree or equivalent (including equivalent life/career experience)
  • Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
  • Proven track record of implementing continuous quality assurance procedures
  • Demonstrate a successful partnership working
  • Demonstrate effective IT, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Can motivate and enthuse teams
  • Demonstrate organisational skills to prioritise workloads and meet challenging deadlines and targets
  • Proven track record of analysing learner needs, performance trends and quality assurance data, to inform curriculum planning and improvement
