Our client delivers the services of a notified body to perform the full range of conformity assessment activities on products falling within the scope of the following directives and regulations.
The role of the Business Unit Manager will be responsible for the management of its Profit & Loss, the License to Operate and Health & Safety. The manager will have 9 direct reports along with business associations for work under BU in China, USA, Denmark and Turkey. Current business revenues sit around £1M per annum, and the role is directly accountable for sales and commercial developments, ensuring a clearly visible performance for both internal and external clients.
Responsible for identification and implementation of improvements in operating efficiency, people capability and customer focus.
Main Duties:- Manage a profit and loss of BU.
- Deliver defined business unit KPIs on revenue, cost, profit, productivity, efficiency, safety, client excellence.
- Achieve overall sales target individual/collective and ensure cash generation target.
- Work as part of the management team to drive improvements.
- Understand the market context and drivers which the clients operate so that the organisation can leverage further business in the sector through better engagement with clients.
- Generate organic client growth through client excellence for BU.
- Engage with business development and the major programmes/bids team as appropriate in the above activities.
- Retain and attract the best people ensuring the competent resource is in place at the right time to the highest standard.
- Drive employee engagement, ensuring all are bought into performance and improvement and client excellence targets and objectives.
- Drive compliance with company systems and processes and improve efficiency such as safety, PMP, financial etc.
- Effectively communicate with all staff within team on business performance and processes.
- P&L Responsibility with strong business acumen - understanding of budgeting, sales process, operational process and cash management cycle.
- Credible knowledge of PED / CDG / ASME, welder PQR’s.
- Team management.
- Strategic Thinking with ability to translate into an operational plan.
- Analytical skills and ability to deal with numbers/KPIs.
- Sales and commercial implementation.
- Educated to degree level.
- Hold chartered status.
