This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours per week.

Site Information

HMP Oakwood is a Category C men's prison located in Featherstone, Staffordshire. It is one of the largest and most modern prisons in the United Kingdom. Our team's aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe, and where causes of prison stress are minimised. The prison's mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Hold a teaching qualification - minimum Cert Ed or PGCE
  • Hold a Degree or equivalent level of qualification (and/or equivalent life and career experience)
  • Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
  • Experience of implementing continuous quality assurance procedures
  • Have a good track record of successful partnership working
  • Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Show an ability to motivate and enthuse teams
  • Demonstrate organisational skills to prioritise workload and meet challenging deadlines and targets
  • Demonstrate competency in analysing trends and identifying impact on curriculum
  • Have good IT Skills
