We have a great opportunity available to join Novus Gower, our prison education provider at HMP Parc, working as a Catering Tutor within the Youth Estate. This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 40 hours per week.
At Novus Gower, we work with passion, care, and commitment to create the foundations for change. We have been supporting men, women and children of all ages and abilities within prison educational settings across England and Wales for decades. We operate numerous hubs across the United Kingdom, where our specialist teams are on hand to support Adults and Children to improve their employability prospects post-release.
HMP Parc Prison is a Category B men's prison located in Bridgend, Wales. The prison accommodates individuals who have been convicted of various offenses requiring secure custody and rehabilitation. The prison’s mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society.
As a Tutor, you will develop and deliver high quality, learner-focused education to meet contractual requirements and standards, in line with Novus Gower policies and procedure. Specific details pertaining to the individual role are shared during the interview process.
To be successful in this role, you will need to:
- Hold a teaching qualification and, where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification – with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months
- Hold a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
- Have experience of creating stimulating, vibrant environments which are conducive to learning and motivating learners
- Have experience of achieving quality targets
- Have experience of producing accurate and timely reports
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrate an ability to motivate and enthuse learners
- Have excellent organisational skills to prioritise workload, and meet deadlines and targets
- Commit to positive teamworking
