Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience with .NET and C# building production services.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, ideally Function Apps and at least one of AKS, Container Apps, or App Services.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Working experience with at least one NoSQL database such as Cosmos DB or MongoDB.
- Experience with messaging and event-driven systems such as Service Bus, Event Grid, Event Hubs, Kafka, or similar.
- Confidence writing automated unit tests, with experience in nUnit, xUnit, or MS Test preferred.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and source control using GitHub or Azure DevOps.
- The right to work in the United Kingdom.
- Production experience with Terraform or another Infrastructure as Code tool on Azure is preferred.
- Experience operating workloads on Kubernetes, preferably AKS, is preferred.
- Front-end experience with React and/or Blazor is preferred.
- Exposure to observability tooling such as Application Insights or Datadog is preferred.
- Awareness of secure coding practices and handling sensitive data is preferred.
- An agile, continuous-learning mindset and a willingness to learn cutting-edge technology.
- A proactive, collaborative approach and a desire to contribute to design as well as implementation.
- Comfort using AI tools in your workflow while taking full ownership of the code you ship.
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, event-driven services running on Azure, including Function Apps, minimal APIs, and UIs where needed.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable C# and .NET code backed by automated tests.
- Model and work with data in NoSQL stores and relational databases where appropriate.
- Build and consume messaging and event flows using Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, Event Hubs, and similar services.
- Provision and evolve infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.
- Occasionally contribute to user interfaces in React or Blazor when projects require it.
- Take part in CI/CD workflows and help improve our automation pipelines.
- Participate in architectural discussions and design solutions together as a team.
- Investigate and resolve bugs, performance bottlenecks, and production incidents.
- Use AI assistants to work faster while remaining personally responsible for the correctness, quality, and security of the code we commit.
- Help shape new ideas in our Sandbox environment by prototyping and experimenting.
- Collaborate in self-organising, value-driven teams and contribute to kick-offs and design sessions when working in person.
