As Operations Manager, you’ll be accountable for the overall performance of the site. You’ll lead a multidisciplinary management team and work closely with the senior leadership team to deliver operational, financial and improvement objectives.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operational lead for the site.
  • Building engagement, accountability and collaboration across all functions.
  • Supporting development, performance management and succession planning.
  • Management of, and working closely with, the Production Manager who will head up the day-to-day production activities.
  • Setting clear priorities and plans to meet short and long-term business objectives.
  • Maintaining strong quality systems and a ‘right first time’ culture.
  • Leading by example on health & safety and embedding safe working practices across the site.
  • Full ownership of the site budget, including cost control and efficiencies.
  • Management of all capital expenditure projects from initial proposal, including financial and cost savings measures with forecasted return on investment.
  • Using data and financial reporting to drive better decisions and performance.
  • Encouraging practical problem solving and continuous improvement at every level.
  • Supporting operational change and embedding new ways of working.
  • Supporting engineering and project teams on upgrades, automation and investments.

You’ll be an experienced operational leader, comfortable balancing site plans with site leadership. Ideally you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience leading a manufacturing plant in an FMCG or food production environment.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, quality systems and regulatory standards.
  • Solid financial and commercial awareness, including budgeting and capex.
  • A leadership style that is visible, supportive and decisive.
  • The ability to lead change, improve performance and bring people with you.
