Based from Basingstoke, Yeovil or South Brent office, working around South West/South East & South Central (nothing inside M25). Working 08:30 β 17:00 Monday β Friday.
Within our Social Housing Planned and Responsive Repair works programs, you will work both from home/office and on site, collaborating with your team in an environment that is inclusive and fair for everyone. Leading your team of commercially focused colleagues to ensure we obtain and evaluate information to guarantee a realistic cost for the supply of works, goods, materials, and services for designated Social Housing, tenanted, planned works refurbishments and responsive repairs. You will liaise with Contractors, Suppliers and Clients to ensure information, costs, profitability and value meet the requirements of designated project/contracts.
Responsibilities
- Manage the commercials of the sub regional office, typically consisting of multiple projects at one time.
- Support forecasting and future projections for the sub region.
- Manage the CVR process on a monthly basis for all sub regional contracts, with the support of the Surveyors.
- Monitor contract progress and report any changes that may affect project costs and/or timescales.
- Manage controls around individual contract budgets.
- Prepare and monitor cash flow forecast for designated projects.
- Prepare and submit monthly applications for payment to the client or clientβs representative.
- Submit invoices for certified value and ensure payments are received on time.
- Value and authorise payments to sub-contractors.
- Assist in the preparation, processing and selection of estimates, bids, and tenders.
- Liaise with contract managers to establish the project specification and requirements.
- Assist in the development of the procurement programme.
- Mentor and support Surveyors in the region to ensure a strong focus on the commerciality of contracts within your sub region.

About You
You will have experience of working as a Managing or Senior Quantity Surveyor within the Construction industry. It is essential to have an understanding of Refurbishments and Responsive repairs (particularly PPP) within a live environment, with a distinct advantage if your experience is within Social Housing, which will help you hit the ground running and contribute effectively to the team. Applicants will ideally have experience of managing a team of QSs and their workload while also managing your own projects. We will commit to providing you the support to become a successful Managing Quantity Surveyor. Applicants will have strong commercial acumen, excellent attention to detail and written and verbal communication skills. You will be an expert with IT with proficient MS Office skills. You also must hold a Full UK Driving Licence as travel is a must with this role. The role will also require a DBS check to be completed.
