Location: Covering South West, Basingstoke, Tewkesbury, Gloucester, Reading, Birmingham – M5 – M40 corridor - working Monday to Friday, typically 39 hours per week - Hybrid role, Site/Office/Home.
As Retrofit Technical Manager for Novus, you will work within the Housing business in conjunction with the operational teams, Head of Sustain and clients to ensure that retrofit projects are mobilised and completed effectively, compliantly, to the highest quality standards, whilst playing an integral role in the upskilling of retrofit delivery teams to ensure policies, processes, and procedures are implemented throughout the various geographical regions. Proactively supporting colleague training and upskilling of PAS and MSC measures across all roles within the management and delivery teams. Supporting the business development and work winning team by identifying and developing funding opportunities to secure additional work streams.

Outline of your responsibility as a Retrofit Technical Manager:
- Act as the subject matter expert for Retrofit and Decarbonisation, ensuring the successful mobilisation, delivery, and handover of retrofit services.
- Support clients in achieving their net zero and carbon reduction objectives across their property portfolios.
- Lead the implementation of retrofit best practices from mobilisation through to project completion, providing guidance, auditing, and compliance support to operational teams.
- Ensure successful mobilisation and ongoing focus on the requirements for compliant delivery through handover, enabling our clients to achieve their zero carbon targets across their portfolios.
- Support business development activities by collaborating with the Win Business team to identify new opportunities, contribute to bid submissions, and enhance the quality of tender responses.
- Provide regular progress updates and reports to key stakeholders in line with business requirements.
- Drive colleague development by supporting training, mentoring, and upskilling initiatives across management and delivery teams.
- Represent the business in client meetings, supporting Senior Leadership Teams during project feasibility assessments, funding discussions, and the development of delivery programmes.
- Ensure all retrofit and decarbonisation activities are delivered in accordance with company systems, processes, and procedures, maintaining a robust 'golden thread' of information throughout project lifecycles.
- Proactively identify compliance risks and non-conformances, working closely with operational teams to implement corrective actions and develop preventative solutions for future projects.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging legislation, industry standards, technologies, and best practices, making recommendations to support continuous improvement.
- Champion innovation and best practice across the business, promoting consistency, excellence, and knowledge sharing throughout all retrofit and decarbonisation workstreams.
About You:
As an experienced Retrofit Technical Manager, you will require a specialist Retrofit and sustainability background within the refurbishment sector. Ideally, you will hold a Level 5 Retrofit qualification and a good understanding of PAS 2030 & 2035 requirements. Our preferred candidate will be experienced, knowledgeable, self-starter focused on delivery/compliance and able to communicate well with the team to ensure every day runs smoothly. Confident IT skills are essential. You will need to hold a Full UK driving licence to travel to sites with occasional overnight stays.
