Join our Work Winning Team as a Senior Bid Manager and play a key role in securing high-value, strategically important opportunities across Novus workstreams. In this role, you’ll lead the development and delivery of complex, quality-led bids from early qualification through to submission, presentation and handover, ensuring every bid is client-focused, commercially robust and aligned to business objectives.
Working closely with operational, commercial, estimating teams, you’ll shape winning strategies, lead bid governance and support continuous improvement across our bid capability. This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced bid professional who can lead others, influence senior stakeholders and strengthen Novus’ approach across sectors including social housing, public sector frameworks or within painting and specialist coatings.

An outline of your responsibilities as a Senior Bid Manager:
- Lead the end-to-end management of complex, high-value and strategically important bids, from early qualification through to submission, presentation and post-bid review.
- Develop winning bid strategies, clear win themes and strong value propositions tailored to client drivers and evaluation criteria.
- Lead bid launch meetings, review sessions, adjudications and governance checkpoints to ensure robust, compliant and commercially sound submissions.
- Provide leadership, coaching and direction through line management to our Bid Managers and Bid Writers.
- Work collaboratively with operational, commercial, estimating and support teams to develop compelling technical, commercial and qualitative responses.
- Oversee bid programmes, resource plans and submission milestones, proactively managing risks, dependencies and competing priorities.
- Ensure all submissions are completed to a high standard, on time and in line with client requirements, internal processes and brand expectations.
- Support interview, presentation and competitive dialogue stages, helping to position Novus strongly throughout the procurement process.
- Maintain accurate pipeline and bid data, providing reporting and insight to support forecasting, performance monitoring and decision-making.
- Drive continuous improvement in bid processes, content libraries, governance and lessons learned to improve win rates and overall bid quality.
About You:
- You’re a highly experienced bid professional with a strong track record of leading and winning complex, quality-led bids within construction, social housing refurbishment or painting and specialist coatings sector.
- You’re confident operating in a formal bid governance environment, influencing senior stakeholders and leading cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality submissions.
- You’ll also bring the leadership skills to coach and develop others, while managing multiple deadlines and strategic priorities.
- Significant senior bid management and bid writing experience.
- A proven track record of winning complex bids and framework submissions.
- Experience of managing, coaching and developing bid professionals and leading cross-functional teams.
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to balance quality, compliance and risk.
- Knowledge of sectors such as social housing, education, healthcare and public sector frameworks.
- APMP qualification and strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Experience of CRM systems and bid management tools.
