Based: Birmingham office; Covering the West and East Midlands region. Working 08:30 – 17:00 Monday – Friday.

Within our Tenanted Social Housing/Care homes/Assisted living refurbishment works programs, commercially supporting the delivery of Passive fire protection works such as fire door installs and maintenance, fire stopping and compartmentation works you will work both from our office, home and on site, collaborating with your team in an environment that is inclusive and fair for everyone. Working on full end to end life cycle of a project including sub contractor procurement and mobilisation. You will work closely with the Operational teams in Birmingham, covering passive fire protection contracts across the region.

Your role is to obtain and evaluate information to ensure a realistic cost for the supply of works, goods, materials, and services for designated projects. Whilst liaising with Contractors, Suppliers and Clients to ensure information, costs, profitability and value meet the requirements of designated project/contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the contract progress, assess, and report any changes that may affect project costs and or time scale.
  • Liaise with Contract Managers to establish the project specification and requirements.
  • Value and authorise payments to sub-contractors.
  • Assist in the control of contract budgets.
  • Prepare and monitor cash flow forecast for designated projects.
  • Prepare and submit monthly applications for payment to the Client/Client’s representative.
  • Prepare monthly valuation reports.
  • Submit invoices for certified value and ensure payments are received on time.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings with work colleagues and or Clients/Customers when necessary, building relationships and demonstrating excellent communication skills.
  • Assist in the development of the procurement programme.
  • Assist in the preparation, processing and selection of estimates, bids, and tenders to demanding timescales.

About You

You will have experience of working as a Quantity Surveyor within passive fire protection, preferably within the Social Housing sector but not essential. Your expertise as a Surveyor will give you the knowledge to hit the ground running and contribute effectively to the team. Attention to detail and great written and verbal communication skills will be essential to your success. You will be an expert with IT with proficient MS office skills. You also must hold a Full UK Driving Licence as travel is a must with this role. The role will require a DBS check to be completed.
