Are you an experienced bid leader who can bring clarity, structure and commercial focus to complex tender activity? This is an exciting opportunity to join Novus Property Solutions as our Head of Bid Management, leading a talented Bid team and playing a key role in securing high-quality, sustainable opportunities that support the continued growth of our family-owned business.
In this senior role, you’ll shape and maintain the overall bidding strategy, governance framework and operating rhythm of the department, ensuring our tender submissions are compelling, compliant, commercially robust and clearly aligned to client requirements. With responsibility for workload planning, risk management, adjudication, quality assurance and continuous improvement, you’ll help drive consistency, pace and best practice across the full bid lifecycle.
Reporting to the Director, you will manage and develop the Bid team, working closely with Operations and Estimating to identify, prioritise and deliver tender opportunities. You’ll act as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders across the business, ensuring effective communication, robust decision-making and clear ownership throughout the bid lifecycle, from opportunity review through to submission, presentation, clarification and post-tender feedback.

An outline of your responsibilities as a Head of Bid Management:
- Lead and manage the Bid department, ensuring the right processes, governance and controls are in place to support successful tender submissions
- Work effectively with Operations to identify bid opportunities within the marketplace and prioritise team workload
- Manage and develop the bid team, including workload planning, coaching, performance and development in line with company policies and procedures
- Ensure strong communication and collaboration between Bid, Operations, Estimating, Finance and other key internal stakeholders
- Work with Operations teams to resource and co-ordinate the completion of tender opportunities
- Partner with the Estimating team to ensure robust risk assessment is completed for tender submissions
- Facilitate the adjudication process to ensure bid submissions are commercially sound, compliant and strategically aligned
- Manage post-tender activities, including client presentations, clarifications and follow-up communications
- Monitor bid outcomes, customer feedback and market intelligence to support continuous improvement
- Provide clear and relevant reporting to the company board of directors
- Develop systems, processes and business education that improve bid activity, consistency and understanding across the business
- Maintain oversight of bid quality, compliance and consistency, ensuring submissions clearly reflect client requirements, Novus’ strengths and agreed commercial objectives
About You:
- You’ll be an experienced senior bid professional with a strong background in bid management and bid writing within the building, construction, property services or maintenance sector.
- You’ll be confident leading a team, managing competing priorities and influencing senior stakeholders, with the commercial awareness, judgement and attention to detail needed to ensure every submission is well-managed, compliant and aligned to business priorities.
- Strong bid management and bid writing experience, ideally within the building or construction industry
- Proven people management experience, with the ability to coach, develop and support a high-performing team
- Commercially astute, with experience of budget management, risk assessment and governance processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentation skills
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the confidence to work across operational, commercial and senior leadership teams
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
