Location: Basingstoke office, covering Rickmansworth, Harrow, High Wycombe, Chelmsford and surrounding areas. Typically working Monday to Friday, 39 hours. Initially a Fixed Term Contract until March 2027.

As a Contracts Manager for Novus, you’ll see the impact and improvements your role delivers to your customers and team every day, enhancing your job satisfaction. This varied and challenging role offers you the opportunity to work with and manage a skilled and professional team while mobilising a new retrofit contract with an existing client in a secure environment, providing opportunities to grow and learn.

Responsibilities include:

  • Successfully leading a small team of Site Managers delivering Retrofit works including solar panels, ventilation measures, loft insulation, windows and doors in a Social Housing setting.
  • Ensuring contracts are completed to programme, with zero defects, within budget, and with no risk to Health & Safety of the operation team, the client, or the public.
  • Being client-facing and possessing extensive knowledge of Retrofit & Planned Works within a Social Housing environment, including working knowledge of PAS 2030 & 2035 and all related documentation to comply with SHDF.
  • Utilising Contracts Management skills to add real social value to the communities and customers you work with.
  • Managing the selection and formation of site personnel teams (including sub-contractors) as determined by individual contracts.
  • Controlling individual contract progress, focusing on completion within time frames and budget.
  • Ensuring all necessary contract documentation/reports are accurate and produced on time.
  • Attending monthly client meetings to review performance and future planning of works.
  • Supporting the Retrofit Manager in the preparation, processing, and selection of estimates, bids, tenders, and the development of the procurement programme.
  • Assisting in the presentation of the contract brief to the client.

About You:

As an experienced Contracts Manager, you will have experience working within planned and retrofit works contracts, including both internal and external works, within a social housing environment. Ideally, you will hold SMSTS, First Aid or associated NVQ; if this has expired, we will support you to renew it. Knowledge of PAS 2030 & 2035 is essential to the role. Our preferred candidate will be experienced, knowledgeable, a self-starter focused on delivery, and able to communicate well with the team to ensure everything runs smoothly. A Full UK driving licence is required to travel to sites regularly, and the role will require a DBS check.
