Working alongside our experienced Bid and Operational teams, you'll assist with pricing tenders for new and existing clients across Public Services and Commercial projects. Our work spans a wide mix of projects nationwide, giving you exposure to different clients and schemes as you grow in confidence.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in the preparation of quotations, bids, and tenders
- Helping prepare supplier and subcontractor enquiries and reviewing returned quotations
- Supporting take‑offs and quantity measurement for pricing purposes
- Gathering materials, labour and plant information needed for tender submissions
- Contributing to the preparation of tender breakdowns and value engineering options
- Liaising with colleagues, subcontractors, suppliers and clients to gather key project information
- Attending internal or client meetings as required
- Supporting the assessment of operational and commercial risks in bids
- Learning to measure projects using SMM7 or NRM (training provided if required)
Qualifications
- Hands‑on experience in construction estimating, cost planning or a similar technical role at an assistant or junior level
- Basic understanding of pricing, measurements or construction project processes
- Willingness to learn more and develop technical skills
- Strong attention to detail with good written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and openness to learning estimating software
- Motivated, organised and eager to pursue a long‑term career in estimating
- Applications will not be considered from those with no estimating experience
- A qualification within the construction sector is highly advantageous
