What does the role involve? Reporting to the Lead Data Engineer, as a Senior Data Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership and expertise to Novuna's business units and shared functions to achieve the maximum benefit from their data assets. We've invested heavily in our data platforms and infrastructure and you'll work with cutting edge Azure technology including Databricks and Azure Data Factory.
Some of your key duties will include:
- Creating business critical data pipelines by gathering requirements and designing and implementing solutions
- Contributing to development standards and best practice using across a variety of technologies
- Acting as a subject matter expert for more junior members of the team and transferring knowledge through coaching and mentoring
- Working with the wider Data Communities to help build strengthen our data culture and identify opportunities for improved profitability by leveraging data
What are we looking for? You're enthusiastic about delivering data solutions that empower business to grow and improve. You have solid knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of data pipelines, data governance and best practices and will have a desire to learn more. Also, we're looking for the following:
- Good technical knowledge of Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Terraform and Azure DevOps
- Strong grounding in both SQL and Python with extensive experience using PySpark
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with different stakeholders and disciplines
- Ability to mentor and coach other members of the team
