Job Summary
The Finance Manager plays a pivotal role within the organisation and will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of financial management and reporting. Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller/CFO, this position offers significant scope for professional development and career progression as the company continues to expand.
Responsibilities
- Compliance Controls
- Ensure compliance with external regulations and standards.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes.
- Financial Planning and Analysis
- Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts.
- Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide financial reports and insights to senior management to aid in decision‑making.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Management of month end closing process.
- Maintain insights and commentary on major variances.
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet, trial balance and income statement accounts.
- Team Management
- Experience of managing offshore back office accounting teams.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Strategic Initiatives/process improvement
- Support strategic planning initiatives with financial insights and analysis.
- Participate in financial modelling and scenario planning for potential business ventures.
- Identify and implement system and process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- External reporting
- HMRC Tax compliance, including R&D tax claim.
- Oversight of statutory reporting.
Skills and Qualifications
- Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA.
- 5+ years of experience in similar role.
- Strong Analytical skills.
- SME experience in a commercial environment (preferred).
- Advanced skills in Excel.
Personal Skills
- Proactive individual able to think and act quickly.
- Must be a strong communicator, able to influence without authority.
- Happy to mix in a multi-cultural/global environment.
