This role provides an opportunity to shape and deliver the organization's compensation and benefits strategy across Europe, ensuring programs are competitive, equitable, and compliant. The Compensation & Benefits Business Partner acts as a strategic advisor to HR and business leaders, leveraging data and market insights to inform decision-making and support talent attraction, retention, and performance. Working closely with the Compensation & Benefits Centre of Excellence (CoE), this role is accountable for translating global reward strategy into effective regional execution, balancing consistency with local market and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5-8+ years of experience in Compensation & Benefits, ideally within a multinational environment
- Experience supporting multiple countries across Europe and/or North America
- Background in life sciences, CRO, healthcare, or consulting environments preferred
- Experience in annual compensation cycles and market benchmarking
- Advanced Excel and strong data interpretation skills; ability to translate data into insights
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Understanding of compensation and benefits regulations across Europe
- Ability to operate effectively in a global, matrixed environment
- Strong governance and accuracy mindset
Responsibilities
- Business Partnering & Advisory
- Partner with HR Business Partners and business leaders across Europe to provide expert guidance on compensation and benefits matters
- Support workforce planning, hiring, promotions, and retention strategies through effective reward solutions
- Advise on complex or sensitive compensation cases (e.g. senior hires, off-cycle adjustments, retention actions)
- Support and deliver annual compensation processes including salary reviews, bonus cycles, and incentive planning
- Contribute to the design and evolution of salary structures, job architecture, and incentive frameworks
- Ensure consistent application of global compensation philosophy, adapted appropriately for local markets
- Partner with Finance to support budgeting, forecasting, and workforce cost management
- Benefits Management
- Support the design, review, and ongoing management of benefits programs across Europe
- Partner with brokers and vendors to ensure programs are competitive and cost-effective
- Ensure alignment with both corporate strategy and local statutory requirements
- Lead participation in compensation benchmarking surveys and analyze market data to inform pay decisions
- Provide insights on market competitiveness, internal equity, and pay positioning
- Develop analytics and reporting to support evidence-based decision-making, including pay equity analysis
- Governance, Compliance & Risk
- Ensure all compensation and benefits programmes comply with local legislation and regulatory requirements across Europe
- Support governance related to pay transparency, pay equity, and emerging regulatory developments
- Maintain robust processes, documentation, and audit trails
- Oversee execution of compensation activities including salary changes, bonus payments, and promotions within HR systems
- Partner with HR teams to ensure accurate and timely data management
- Act as escalation point for day-to-day compensation and benefits queries within the region
- Regional Delivery & Operations
