Novocure is a global publicly-traded commercial-stage oncology company developing a profoundly different cancer treatment therapy called tumor treating fields (TTFields) for patients with solid tumors. TTFields therapy is a non-invasive, novel, antimitotic treatment modality which utilizes proprietary technology attempting to slow or reverse tumor progression by inducing tumor cell death. Novocure\'s commercialized product, Optune, is approved for the treatment of adult patients with glioblastoma (GBM) in the USA, Europe and Israel. Novocure has ongoing or completed clinical trials and is further expanding its efforts into several other solid tumor indications - non-small cell lung cancer, pancreatic cancer and other types of solid cancers.

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field based key position within the UK Novocure organization. The position will be responsible for developing relationships within the medical/scientific community, provide medical and/or scientific data about Novocure products and research to healthcare professionals and support the HCP to enable the care of patients with Tumour Treating Fields (TTFields) therapy. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to serving as scientific interface between the Company and the healthcare professional communities with respect to communicating about Novocure’s clinical development plan and other research and development plans. To develop teaching materials as appropriate, facilitate investigator sponsored research on Novocure marketed and investigational indications and provide perspective related to field activities associated with growing existing products and bringing new indications to market, are further responsibilities of this position. The MSL will take an important role on the team, serving as a resource and mentor to field team members. The MSL will be responsible for the education/certification of new prescribers. Medical and scientific expertise will be maintained through review of scientific literature, attendance at assigned medical meetings and self-learning. The MSL will work closely with cross-functional partners including the UK Business Team.
Your responsibilities:- Increases therapy awareness amongst HCPs in Neuro-Oncology and other therapy areas as required
- Manages his/her territory and associated field-based activities
- Performs activities related to Novocure’s marketed and research products including:
- Healthcare provider education on Novocure products and disease awareness (Certification from new centers)
- Facilitation of investigator sponsored trials
- Providing HCP feedback and competitive intelligence to the company regarding the therapeutic area and Novocure products
- Attendance and coverage at assigned Medical Meetings, Organization of advisory boards, etc.
- Facilitate advancement of the body of science regarding TTFields.
- Supports therapy with TTFields through medical communications, scientific support for promotional activities and other related medical activities including, but not limited to studies, training, and medical information.
- Develops, maintains and extends contacts with national experts and medical professionals in our Oncology field regarding brain tumours (Gliomas etc) and other tumours areas as required
- Delivers scientific presentations to HCPs, decision makers etc
- Ensures 100% compliance with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures, local and international rules and regulations.
- High scientific or medical degree, Masters, PhD or Medical Doctor (GMC-registered) is required
- At least 3 years of experience as an MSL or in a very similar role in the UK
- Experience in Oncology is a Plus
- Deep knowledge and expertise of the NHS system in the UK is a must
- Previous experience of working in medical devices or pharmaceutical/biotech industry is required
- Demonstrated fluency in articulating scientific concepts and data
- A strategic, passionate, self-starter who takes the initiative
- Work well in large and small teams, ability to work remotely
- Ability to travel 80-85% of time
- Comfortable with occasional after-hours and weekends availability
- HCPs focus-oriented: bring expertise and innovation and collaborate with HCPs
