We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Production Manager to lead our manufacturing operations and ensure our products meet the highest standards of luxury and craftsmanship.

Job Summary

The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the manufacturing process, from raw material intake to final product delivery. This role requires a strong leader who can manage a diverse team, optimise production schedules, maintain quality control, and drive continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced, high-end production environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure work is delivered on schedule and to the required quality standards.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the production floor, ensuring all manufacturing processes run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Develop and implement production schedules, labour plans, and resource allocation strategies to meet demand and delivery deadlines.
  • Monitor production output against targets, identifying and resolving bottlenecks or issues.
  • Maintain and enforce the highest quality control standards to ensure all finished furniture pieces adhere to our luxury brand’s specifications.
  • Collaborate with the Design, workshop and Quality Assurance team to continuously improve product quality and manufacturing techniques.
  • Oversee the maintenance and calibration of all manufacturing equipment.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of skilled craftspeople, and production staff.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide training, and foster a positive, safety-conscious, and productive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Hire and fire as appropriate under the guidance of the Directors.
  • Work closely with the Procurement team to ensure timely availability of high-quality raw materials.
  • Oversee inventory management of materials and finished goods, minimising waste and optimising storage.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and best practices to optimise efficiency, reduce costs, and improve workflow.
  • Work with the directors and team to implement the ISO9001 quality management system.
  • Analyse production data and metrics to identify opportunities for process and performance improvement.
Qualifications Required
  • Proven experience as a Production Manager or similar role in a high-quality manufacturing environment, preferably in luxury goods or custom furniture.
  • Strong knowledge of furniture manufacturing processes, materials, and machinery.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in production planning and inventory management software.
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in working with ISO 9001.
  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.

This is a full‑time role based at our workshop in Washington, Tyne & Wear. As public transport links are poor, we strongly recommend applicants are able to travel to work via car. Overtime may be required from time-to-time.
