We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established Northern Ireland manufacturer seeking an experienced SHEQ Manager to lead Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality performance across the business. This is a standalone leadership role offering the opportunity to influence business strategy, develop management systems and drive continuous improvement across safety, quality and environmental performance. You'll work closely with senior management, leading compliance while helping the business achieve its operational and sustainability goals.
Location: Lisburn area
Salary: Circa £50,000- £55,000
Hours: Flexible working hours | Early finish every Friday
The Role
As SHEQ Manager, you'll take ownership of the company's integrated management systems and ensure the business continues to operate safely, efficiently and in full compliance with legislative and customer requirements. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing, implementing and continuously improving the company's Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Systems.
- Creating, reviewing and enforcing SHEQ policies, procedures and safe systems of work across the business.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation including COSHH, REACH, DSEAR and MHRA requirements where applicable.
- Maintaining and developing the company's ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems, ensuring successful internal and external audits.
- Leading environmental initiatives focused on sustainability, waste reduction and supporting the company's journey towards Net Zero.
- Managing quality assurance activities, supporting customer complaint investigations and ensuring regulatory compliance across products and processes.
- Conducting workplace inspections, audits and risk assessments, ensuring corrective and preventative actions are effectively implemented.
- Delivering engaging SHEQ training, coaching and guidance to managers and employees, helping to embed a proactive safety culture.
- Leading accident, incident and near-miss investigations, identifying root causes and driving continuous improvement.
- Working closely with production, engineering and leadership teams to improve operational performance and reduce business risk.
About You
We're looking for an experienced SHEQ professional who enjoys influencing positive change and leading from the front. You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in a SHEQ, HSEQ or Health & Safety Management position within manufacturing or an industrial environment.
- NEBOSH Qualified
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Experience managing regulatory compliance including COSHH, REACH and DSEAR.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to engage people at every level.
- A practical, hands-on approach combined with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
