NOVO is working with an established Northern Ireland business to appoint a Safety, Health & Environmental Manager for its Manufacturing operation. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can strengthen SHE systems, support operational teams and continue building a positive, proactive safety culture across the business. You will take ownership of Safety, Health & Environmental performance across the operation, acting as the key point of contact for HSE matters.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and improving the HSE Management System
- Promoting a positive safety and environmental culture
- Supporting managers with risk assessments and operational controls
- Leading incident and near-miss investigations
- Conducting audits, inspections and compliance reviews
- Monitoring SHE performance and improvement actions
- Delivering training, coaching and employee engagement initiatives
- Supporting environmental compliance, waste reduction and sustainability activity
- Driving continuous improvement across SHE performance
What we are looking for:
You will have solid Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing, engineering or similar operational environment and be comfortable working with people at all levels.
Essential:
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of HSE legislation
- Experience managing or maintaining HSE management systems
- Strong risk assessment and incident investigation experience
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities
Desirable:
- Diploma-level Health & Safety qualification
- IOSH, IEMA or equivalent membership
- ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001 experience
- Internal or Lead Auditor qualification
- Environmental or sustainability experience
