The Position
As a Senior Procurement Specialist, you will:
- Work in a decentralised procurement environment, translating complex business requirements into sourcing projects.
- Conduct sourcing events (RFI, RFP, RFQ) in Coupa across a variety of indirect categories during pre-launch, launch, and post-launch stages.
- Lead sourcing events and collaborate with project owners to assess proposals against criteria such as cost, timelines, technology, sustainability, and risk.
- Act as a trusted procurement advisor, ensuring compliance with internal policies, laws, and regulations, including the Association of British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) code of practice.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and suppliers, leveraging your negotiation and communication skills.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, align, and improve procurement processes, presenting business cases for change where appropriate.
- Manage procurement processes, including supplier management, contract enforcement, requisition, purchasing, and reporting.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, we imagine you:
- Hold a relevant higher education qualification such as business, finance, engineering etc. CIPS qualification, a plus
- Bring prior experience in Procurement, Sourcing, Category Management or business development from an international organisation, ideally within healthcare or pharmaceuticals
- Strong knowledge of spend analysis, contract handling and supplier performance evaluation.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of negotiating contracts and managing suppliers
- Possess strong communication skills and presentation skills along with solid stakeholder management and networking skills.
- Be fluent in both verbal and written English
