Your new role

As a Regional Medical Advisor in our Metabolic Medical Affairs team, you will be at the forefront of driving medical excellence and scientific dialogue with healthcare professionals across Scotland. You will bridge the gap between cutting‑edge science and clinical practice, ensuring that HCPs have the knowledge and support they need to improve outcomes for people living with metabolic diseases.

Day‑to‑day Your Tasks Will Include:

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key healthcare professionals, opinion leaders, and major healthcare institutions to establish Novo Nordisk’s medical credibility.
  • Gathering and analyzing medical insights on unmet needs of people with metabolic diseases, HCPs, and health systems to inform regional and national medical strategy.
  • Providing high‑quality medical and scientific education and training to healthcare professionals on metabolic disease management.
  • Supporting local clinical research activities, including identification of trial sites, investigator‑sponsored studies, and phase IV research.
  • Responding to unsolicited medical information requests from HCPs on licensed and unlicensed products, disease states, and scientific topics.
  • Partnering with local healthcare systems and medical associations to develop solutions along clinical care pathways that improve patient outcomes.
  • Leading the development and execution of regional symposia, educational events, and advisory boards focused on metabolic diseases and Novo Nordisk’s therapeutic areas.

Your new department

You will be part of the UK Metabolic Medical Affairs team, working closely with colleagues across Commercial, Clinical Research, and Learning & Development. Together, we’re committed to supporting healthcare professionals and improving care for people living with diabetes, obesity, and other metabolic conditions. Your role will be pivotal in translating complex scientific evidence into practical clinical insights that drive better patient outcomes.

Your Skills & Qualifications

We’re looking for a scientifically credible medical professional who is passionate about influencing healthcare from a medical perspective. You will bring with you:

  • Medical, PhD or Pharmacy qualification.
  • A firm understanding of the ABPI Code of Practice and relevant regulations relating to pharmaceutical advertising.
  • Strong communication, networking, presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to engage diverse healthcare audiences.
  • Excellent scientific credibility with deep understanding of clinical research methodology, GCP, and drug development.
  • Knowledge of UK healthcare systems and experience collaborating with healthcare professionals and medical associations.
  • Ability to manage complex tasks and quickly adjust to new situations in a continuously developing environment.
  • Post‑registration or post‑qualification experience, ideally with prior pharmaceutical industry or therapy area experience (desirable).
