Your new role
As Health Economics Manager for the UK, you will be the strategic architect behind our health technology assessment approach – ensuring our portfolio of treatments reaches the patients who need them most. You will own the full HTA journey from strategy development through to successful submissions and implementation, working at the intersection of health economics, policy, and patient access.
Day‑to‑day your responsibilities will include:
- Defining and executing the health technology assessment strategy for Novo Nordisk's UK portfolio, ensuring alignment with global objectives while meeting local market needs.
- Leading the development and submission of HTA dossiers for UK payer agencies including NICE, SMC and AWMSG, directing external agencies and managing all stakeholder communications.
- Developing innovative solutions to access challenges, including Patient Access Schemes and Managed Entry Agreements, in close collaboration with Strategic Pricing teams.
- Providing strategic input to Product Development Plans to ensure health economic needs are addressed and reimbursement pathways are secured.
- Building and maintaining an external stakeholder network to influence HTA policy and strategy, representing Novo Nordisk in negotiations with payer agencies.
- Creating bespoke economic evidence, tools and publications that substantiate our value story and support implementation at national and local levels.
- Leading evidence generation activities including cost‑effectiveness models, systematic literature reviews, network meta‑analyses and real‑world evidence studies.

As part of International Operations, you will join our largest operational unit, covering 194 countries and 95% of the world's population. Within International Operations, the UK Market Access team plays a pivotal role in translating clinical innovation into patient access, working closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure therapies navigate the complex UK reimbursement landscape successfully.
Your skills & qualifications
- Proven track record of successful UK HTA submissions and in-depth knowledge of UK reimbursement processes, particularly NICE and SMC pathways.
- Degree in Social Sciences, Health Sciences, Business or related field with substantial Market Access experience (Master's Degree and Health Economics qualification preferred).
- Expertise in developing and evaluating economic models, systematic literature reviews, network meta‑analyses and indirect evidence generation methodologies.
- Strong project management capabilities with the ability to direct external agencies, manage multiple submissions simultaneously and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience building relationships across geographies, functions and with external payer bodies.
- Advanced analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex health economic concepts for diverse audiences.
- Fluency in English and advanced proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and relevant databases.
