Assistant General Manager - Welling, London Salary – £28,000 per annum Employment Type / Hours – Full-time / 42 hours per week Novo Gyms is looking for a confident, proactive and hands-on Assistant General Manager to join our Welling club.

You will support the General Manager with the daily running of the gym, supervise the team and help maintain high standards across the gym floor, recovery facilities, reception and Juice Bar.

This role is ideal for someone with management or supervisory experience who enjoys working with people, takes pride in maintaining high standards and wants to progress within a growing fitness brand.

The Role As Assistant General Manager, you’ll be responsible for: Supporting the General Manager with the day-to-day running of the club.

Taking charge of shifts when the General Manager is not on site.

Briefing employees, allocating tasks and monitoring their completion.

Checking that cleaning, safety, operational and service standards are maintained.

Leading by example and working alongside the team when support is needed.

Maintaining a visible and approachable presence for members and employees.

Handling routine member enquiries, feedback and complaints professionally.

Supporting membership sales, tours, lead follow-ups and retention activity.

Completing regular checks across the gym floor, changing rooms, recovery facilities and Juice Bar.

Making sure required forms, safety checks and records are completed correctly.

Reporting staffing, maintenance, safety or performance concerns to the General Manager.

Completing clear shift reports and management handovers.

Supporting reception, admin, the gym floor, recovery facilities or Juice Bar when required.

Helping create a professional, positive and high-performing team environment.

What We’re Looking For Previous supervisory or management experience within a gym, leisure, hospitality, retail or customer-service environment.

Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.

A confident and hands-on approach to managing a team.

Professional, reliable and proactive.

Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.

Commercial awareness and confidence supporting sales and member retention.

Passion for fitness, health and member experience.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.

Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings and weekends as required.

First Aid or CPR/AED certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.
