This role offers a rare opportunity to shape the financial foundations of an innovative business and professionalise the operational finance function at a pivotal moment in its development.

The Role

As Finance Director, you will take full leadership of the finance function—strategic, operational, and commercial. You’ll work closely with the senior team to build financial systems and insights that enable effective decision‑making and support the scaling of our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the leadership team on commercial strategy, pricing, and margin optimisation

  • Manage statutory reporting, compliance, and risk
  • Prepare investor reporting and support future fundraising processes
  • Provide strategic financial insight to support long‑term business planning

About You

You’ll bring both strategic vision and hands‑on capability, with the experience to build a finance function that supports a fast‑moving, manufactured product‑focused business.

  • Proven experience leading the finance function of a company that manufactures engineered or technically complex products
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing cost structures, including BOM, overheads, labour and CapEx
  • Experience supporting operational scale‑up within a growth‑stage or entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong expertise in financial planning, modelling, controls, and cash management
  • Ability to work effectively with engineering, operations, and commercial teams
  • Clear communication and a proactive, problem‑solving mindset

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in technology, engineered products, or deep‑tech environments
  • Previous involvement in fundraising or investor relations
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
  • A secondary degree would be advantageous
