The firm handles a broad spectrum of residential property matters, ranging from first-time buyer transactions and new-build developments through to high-value property acquisitions exceeding £3 million. With continued investment planned, including the implementation of a new case management system, the business is entering an exciting phase of development and growth.
As part of its long-term strategy, the firm is seeking to appoint a Head of Residential Conveyancing to lead and further develop the department, working closely with the Managing Partner and existing experienced fee earners.
Role & Responsibilities- Lead and oversee the Residential Conveyancing department, managing a varied and high-quality caseload from instruction through to completion.
- Provide guidance, support and mentorship to existing team members while helping to shape the future structure of the department.
- Work closely with senior leadership to develop and implement growth plans for the Residential Conveyancing offering.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, agents, introducers and other stakeholders, ensuring exceptional levels of service are maintained.
- Drive departmental performance, profitability and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to recruitment, team development and succession planning as the department expands.
- Play an active role in the ongoing implementation and optimisation of a new case management system.
- Support networking and business development initiatives to further strengthen the firm's market presence.
- Help foster a collaborative, positive and commercially focused culture across the practice.
Suitable candidates for this role are likely to have the following backgrounds:
- Qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or Legal Executive with significant Residential Conveyancing experience.
- Approximately 5–25 years PQE, although applications from candidates outside this range will also be considered where relevant experience can be demonstrated.
- Strong technical expertise across a broad range of residential property transactions.
- Previous team leadership experience would be advantageous but is not essential; individuals looking to take their first step into a leadership role are encouraged to apply.
- Commercially aware with excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
- Organised, proactive and capable of managing competing priorities effectively.
- Down-to-earth, approachable and hands-on in style.
