Our client is a global manufacturing business, supplying both semi-finished products and manufactured pieces to most industry sectors around the globe. In the UK, the organisation has a turnover of circa £40m and a growing order book to support its further growth.
There is a requirement to appoint a Manufacturing Director to the business, a new and exciting opportunity for a proven senior manufacturing professional. The role will hold strategic responsibility for the UK manufacturing operations, overseeing three sites. The day-to-day responsibilities will feature a mix of strategic planning and delivery alongside operational responsibility across each site. The Manufacturing Director will hold responsibility for all product-technical processes and operating costs, alongside the health and safety of all employees. Furthermore, the development of the production plants and processes will be a key area of responsibility.

Responsibilities:- Responsibility for the three machine shops via their respective Production Managers
- Preparation of budget plans and compliance of planning specifications
- Personnel planning and further development of qualifications and competences of employees
- Preparation and realisation of investment plans
- Control of optimal use of available resources (man, machine, material, method)
- Further development of production plants and processes
- Compliance of all specified product properties within the area of responsibility
- Cooperation on technical contract review
- Check suggestions for improvement
- Control and documentation of used production processes
- Realisation of project works
- Management of Estimating and Product Planning departments at all three sites
- Health & safety
- Order and cleanliness in the area they are responsible for
- Verification of effectiveness of taken corrective and preventative measures
- Implementation of company policy and company guidelines.
- Technical degree or equivalent
- Professional and leadership experience (minimum 5 years)
- Dynamic and goal-oriented person with strong communication skills across all levels
- Able to take the workforce with them on ‘their journey’
- Strong decision-making ability and assertiveness
- Project management experience
- Multi-site experience – willing to travel in the UK and abroad.
