Salary: £150,000 – £200,000 + Bonus + Equity Options

Our client is a European multinational residential property services business, operating across seven countries and employing over 14,000 people. The business has significant expansion plans in the UK and has acquired multiple property management businesses with 30,000 units currently under management in the UK. The business is also pursuing additional acquisitions and expects to be a £250m turnover business within the next 5 years. As part of these growth plans, the business is building critical capabilities to complement their offering, including a dedicated standalone legal practice.

We are now working with this client to help them appoint an entrepreneurial and experienced Residential Property Law expert to establish and lead a standalone legal practice to support their growth plans in the UK. This is a unique opportunity to build and develop a legal practice from inception with a significant pipeline of work guaranteed from the UK subsidiary which will continue to grow as they expand their operations across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and lead a stand‑alone legal practice focused on leasehold and residential property law to fulfil the legal needs of the Group in the UK.
  • Manage all legal matters related to property management: Right‑to‑Manage claims, leasehold disputes, service charge debt recovery, and tribunal representation.
  • Build and scale a high‑performing legal team, leveraging offshore resources.
  • Develop standardised processes, implement systems, and ensure SRA compliance.
  • Own P&L, manage budgets, and minimise reliance on external counsel.
Experience
  • UK‑qualified solicitor (10+ years PQE) with deep expertise in residential property law, specifically Landlord and Tenant Act and service charge debt recovery.
  • Proven managerial experience running or significantly contributing to a legal practice or in‑house function focusing within residential property management.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to advise corporate leadership.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with appetite to build a new legal practice or in‑house function.
  • Track record in litigation, tribunal cases, and managing legal budgets.
