Head of Engineering – Avionics Division Buckinghamshire Our client is an internationally renowned engineering company and recognised global leader in the design and manufacture of sophisticated electronic solutions for the aerospace and defence industries. The UK company has 3 autonomous business units, all of which have their own engineering, operations and sales teams. The role – Head of Engineering (Avionics) The Head of Engineering is ultimately responsible for the delivery of a significant portfolio of avionics products across all stages of the development life cycle. 35 technically excellent engineers (predominantly focussed on R&D of new products), the Head of Engineering will encourage a culture of “intellectual curiosity” and a sense of “ownership”. Building a team for success now and also readying it for a significant ramp up in operations, through upskilling and continuous improvement of people and processes. The new Head of Engineering will be: • Possess or able to attain security clearance, willing to travel internationally (maybe 6 trips per year) Basic salary from £100,000 (potentially more with exceptional experience) + £7,700 car allowance + bonus + benefits Office location The role is based at Head office in Buckinghamshire and the new Head of Engineering will be expected to be on site a minimum of 4 days per week – 5 days is preferred. Some international travel will be required to meet with clients (predominantly in the US).
