We are looking for an experienced Engineering & Maintenance Manager to join a small, self‑contained island community and support a broad range of engineering, maintenance, and operational activities. The role covers a busy period of seasonal work from now until October, with scope for a longer‑term or permanent appointment for the right person.

You will be working within a unique environment, supporting approximately 80–90 holiday properties and wider estate operations, offering both variety and the chance to make a real impact in a close‑knit setting.

  • Lead and coordinate a small team of 5 engineering/maintenance/freight staff.
  • Plan, prioritise, and oversee day‑to‑day works, ensuring safety and quality standards.
  • Support maintenance and repair across a wide range of assets, including:
    • Horticultural and forestry machinery
    • Waste‑to‑Energy Plant Oversight
  • Provide managerial oversight of a small waste‑to‑energy plant, ensuring compliance, planning, and operational continuity.
  • Logistics & Freight Support - Assist the freight/logistics team in delivering goods to commercial outlets and residential properties across the island.
  • Contribute to general engineering, estate maintenance, and project support as needed across the community.

Experienced across mechanical, plant, or multi‑discipline maintenance environments.

Willing and able to live on a small island community for the duration of the contract.
