Opportunity to lead the operational excellence of a growing and high quality aerospace business. Our client produces a range of composite structures, machined components and sheet metal fabrications with a focus on the aerospace industry. Specialist capabilities include a full range of surface treatments and a dedicated Spares and Repairs capability. They work with prime aerospace OEM clients as well as tier 1 manufacturers and have a reputation for quality and delivery. The UK facility has grown its focus from manufacturing composite components, structures and assemblies, to offer a complete manufacturing solution covering a broader range of capabilities. They can offer a wide range of capabilities which includes metallics, sheet metalwork, fabrication, machining and metal and composite bonding. The facility has on-site a fully NADCAP, Airbus and BAE Systems approved treatment facility to support customer needs.
With significant investment in place for organic and acquisitive expansion, they are looking to appoint a Head of Operations to lead the output and value streams for their largest site.
This role ensures that business operations are efficient and optimised whilst ensuring delivery that meets strict quality and safety standards. This role emphasises a requirement to focus on operational discipline, standard work, and fundamentals of execution to ensure product quality, process stability, and team accountability. The role specifically drives OTD/OTIF, Utilisation, Efficiency, Non-Conformance and Data Driven KPIs.
Skills / Abilities / Experience:
- Proven substantial experience in leading an operations function of an aerospace product manufacturing company with the flexibility of being hands on with day-to-day responsibilities, while at the same time supporting the business strategically.
- Leadership gravitas.
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills to engage and communicate with all areas of the business and stakeholders.
- Capable of leading operations and engineering functions.
- Have an up to date and solid understanding of Modern Manufacturing techniques.
- Experience operating in a business serving a range of international territories and regulatory environments.
- You will enjoy working in a target oriented environment and have excellent communication skills. Using your initiative and making decisions are key attributes for someone to be successful in this role.
