We are looking for an Assistant Production Manager to work closely with our Production Manager, supporting factory operations and gradually taking on leadership responsibilities. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands-on engineering environment and enjoys problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Production Manager in overseeing factory operations.
- Gradually take on managerial duties, leading sections of the shop floor.
- Work closely with Team Leaders and Supervisors to ensure production efficiency.
- Identify and solve production delays with creative, proactive solutions.
- Foster strong communication between departments, including Procurement, Quality, and Engineering.
- Use MRP systems, including Bills of Materials (BoMs), to track production.
- Ensure accurate interpretation of engineering drawings for manufacturing processes.
- Promote a professional, constructive shop floor culture—balancing authority with approachability.
- Experience in a mechanical shop floor engineering environment.
- Familiarity with MRP systems and managing work orders.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong PC skills, particularly Excel (aspirational, not essential).
- Experience in electrical/electronics is an advantage.
- The ability to lead and collaborate with a diverse workforce across all age groups.
