Junior Mechanical Design Engineer needed for our Newcastle under Lyme based Client.
Position Summary: You will work as part of the engineering team, supporting the design, development, and manufacture of products. The role covers a wide range of activities, including change management, new product development (NPD), support of production assembly processes, functional and structural testing, product design, and 3D CAD work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, laser marking files, specifications, and BOMs.
- Support product change management and ensure changes are accurately implemented and documented.
- Work closely with other teams, including Quality, Production, Procurement, and Sales, to support product introduction.
- Contribute to product and process development projects.
- Carry out design verification and validation testing on new and existing products, materials, and components.
- Provide technical support to internal teams.
- Manage and maintain CAD data, ensuring accuracy and correct revision control.
- Support the Proof Validation (PV) process.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in an engineering role, ideally within manufacturing or consumer goods.
- HNC/D or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Engineering field.
- Strong experience using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Creo, or equivalent.
- Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis).
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
- Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Able to manage multiple tasks and projects independently.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
