A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Tekla Detailer to join a well-established and respected structural steel contractor based in Hull. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled detailer who is looking to work on a variety of technically challenging projects while becoming part of a supportive and experienced engineering team. The successful candidate will play a key role in producing accurate 3D models and fabrication drawings, working closely with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to the highest standards.

The Opportunity

As a Tekla Detailer, you will be responsible for creating detailed structural steel models and drawings from engineering information, ensuring all details are accurate, practical, and suitable for fabrication and installation. The role would suit an experienced Tekla professional who has strong structural steel knowledge and takes pride in delivering high-quality detailing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creating fabrication and general arrangement drawings for structural steel projects
  • Detailing steelwork accurately in line with engineering specifications and client requirements
  • Preparing material lists, assembly drawings, and fabrication information
  • Working closely with engineers, project managers, fabricators, and site teams
  • Reviewing drawings and models to ensure accuracy and buildability
  • Resolving technical queries throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensuring all work is completed to required quality standards and deadlines

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience as a Tekla Detailer within structural steelwork
  • Strong working knowledge of Tekla Structures
  • Experience producing fabrication drawings and detailed steelwork models
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Good understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection processes
  • Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to work
  • Ability to manage workloads and meet project deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a wider project team
  • Experience with software such as AutoCAD, StruMIS, Trimble Connect, or similar platforms would be advantageous.
