We are currently recruiting for an experienced Social Work Assistant to join a well established Children in Care service within a forward thinking local authority. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive and collaborative team environment focused on achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.

The Role

  • Supporting the completion of statutory assessments
  • Supervising family time/contact sessions
  • Working directly with children, young people, and families
  • Undertaking home visits and community-based support
  • Recording accurate and up-to-date case information
  • Providing practical and emotional support to families
  • Working closely with multi-agency professionals to achieve the best outcomes

About You

  • Has experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and families
  • Has a strong understanding of safeguarding and children’s services processes
  • Is confident working both independently and as part of a team
  • Has excellent communication skills and can adapt their approach to different audiences
  • Is organised, proactive, and able to manage a varied workload
  • Is committed to building positive, long-term relationships with children and families
  • Is confident using IT systems and maintaining accurate records

Requirements

  • Experience in a similar Social Work Assistant / Family Support role
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
