An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a well‑established structural steel business delivering high-quality projects across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. This is a key role within a growing commercial team, offering the chance to work on a wide range of technically interesting steelwork projects from tender stage through to final account.
What you’ll do:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and detailed take-offs for structural steel projects
- Manage valuations, variations, and interim payment applications
- Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to assess project requirements
- Work closely with design, project management, and fabrication teams
- Negotiate with clients and subcontractors to ensure commercial control of projects
- Monitor project costs and report on financial performance
- Assist with procurement of materials and subcontract packages
- Support final account preparation and agreement
You’ll need:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within structural steel or construction
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection processes
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Experience with cost control, variations, and commercial reporting
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical ability
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction (preferred)
