Job Description

Adults Project Worker

Location: Wandsworth, LondonPay Rate: £16.24 PAYE Hours: 37.5 hours per week (rota basis, including early and late shifts on weekdays & long shifts on weekends)

About the Role

We are recruiting a Mental Health Support Worker to join a dedicated team providing accommodation and support to individuals with mental health needs in Wandsworth. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives by delivering person-centred support that fosters independence and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of 4-5 key clients, conducting regular key working sessions and developing effective Support Plans
  • Carry out comprehensive risk and needs assessments to ensure tailored care
  • Work collaboratively with residents to empower them in setting and achieving personal goals
  • Offer emotional, practical, and housing-related support to promote independent living
  • Build trust and rapport with clients, including those resistant to engagement
  • Liaise with healthcare professionals, social workers, and mental health specialists to coordinate care
  • Advocate for residents' needs and support referrals to external agencies
  • Assist with daily living tasks such as cleaning, cooking, shopping, and budgeting
  • Encourage participation in education, employment, and social activities
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and housing regulations
  • This role involves lone working

Requirements

  • Experience working with vulnerable adults, ideally in mental health, supported housing, or homelessness services
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed and person-centred approaches
  • Ability to build relationships with clients, even those hesitant to engage
