The Role
We're looking for a qualified Interim Fire Risk Officer to support an experienced team working across complex, tenanted social housing blocks. This is a hands-on, meaningful role where your insights will directly impact safety, compliance, and the development of improved fire risk management processes.
You'll be responsible for managing fire risk assessments, mentoring internal team members, and contributing to the development of FRA templates, policies, and procedures. You'll also support the planning and supervision of building maintenance and fire safety projects – ensuring standards are met across the borough.

The Candidate
To be considered, you'll need to be:

A qualified Fire Risk Assessor

A member of the IFE (Institution of Fire Engineers)

Experienced in social housing settings, ideally with complex or high-density blocks

Confident mentoring others and sharing technical knowledge

Comfortable influencing and improving policies, templates, and internal processes
Knowledge of the following is essential:

BS 9999, PAS 79, and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005

Contract law, British standards, and health & safety legislation

Experience with building surveying or maintenance is beneficial
Training will be provided where necessary to carry out fire risk assessments.
