BHC Ltd is a family‑run business with a proud heritage, having grown since 1992 into one of the UK and Ireland’s leading structural steel fabrication and construction companies. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced HSQE Manager to lead Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental compliance across our operations. This is a key leadership role where you will work closely with departmental managers to drive continuous improvement, maintain compliance standards, and promote a proactive safety culture throughout the business.

Responsibilities

  • Champion Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental standards across the company.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and annual HSQE plans.
  • Develop, implement and maintain HSQE policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, toolbox talks and incident investigations.
  • Ensure effective risk assessments and safe systems of work are in place.
  • Manage accident and near miss reporting processes and implement corrective actions.
  • Liaise with external bodies including the HSE, local authorities and Environment Agency.
  • Manage and maintain company accreditations including Achilles, CIRAS, RISQS and ISO certifications.
  • Support compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022.
  • Deliver HSQE training and support departmental managers with implementation of best practice.
  • Promote a proactive and positive safety culture across all areas of the business.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide evidence‑based recommendations for improvement.

Requirements

  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent) is essential.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an HSQE management role within construction, manufacturing or fabrication.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Health.
