An established structural steel specialist is seeking an experienced Tekla Detailer to join their technical team in the North East. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a wide range of structural steel projects across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure sectors.
The Role
As a Tekla Detailer, you will be responsible for producing accurate 3D models and detailed fabrication and erection drawings, working closely with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to ensure buildability and compliance with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed Tekla Structures 3D models for structural steelwork
- Prepare GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and bolt lists
- Interpret and apply engineers' calculations and design information
- Resolve technical queries and liaise with engineers, clients, and site teams
- Ensure models and drawings align with fabrication and erection constraints
- Support project delivery to agreed programmes and quality standards
- Maintain drawing registers and contribute to technical documentation
About You
- Proven experience as a Tekla Detailer within the structural steel industry
- Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection processes
- Confident reading and interpreting structural calculations and specifications
- Experience producing drawings for commercial and/or industrial steelwork
- High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
